Every 15 Minutes – Distracted/Drunk Driving Program at BHHS

This week BHHS put on Every 15 Minutes. An intense two-day program to create awareness of the real dangers of drunk/distracted driving. Words cannot describe the level of depth this program reaches. From a car crash scene, the arrest of a drunk driver, to the assembly where students and parents write letter to each other as if they had died. It’s a very real reminder and a very real awakening.

When I asked myself what I got out of this program I realized these two-days went beyond the awareness of drunk driving. It begs the question of what would happen if tomorrow never came? It demands you to be present. The truth of the matter is we are never guaranteed a tomorrow. But we do have today. And what you choose to prioritize, what you choose to stress over, to regret, to hold on to, to be angry at, to push off until a later date, to never slow down, to check just “one” more email, to mindlessly scroll through social media, to wish you could have done things differently, to waste another day…can all disappear if we don’t get tomorrow. So I say live. Live today in the present. Stop. Stop and take a breath. Love. Love yourself and those around you. And finally…Do. Do what you have always wanted to do. Go for it.

Please find the entire video of our Every 15 Minutes program below. Filmed, edited and produced all by our amazing KBEV students.
